FARJEON (Joseph Jefferson, 1883-1955, Detective Novelist and Playwright)

Autograph Letter Signed to Eileen Cond, but without greeting, wishing her "A happy Christmas, and very many thanks for your calendar. I used the one you sent me last year all the year round - and shall do the same ... banishing a street in Worcester of which I grew quite fond, for sea, ships and gulls", he is "replying in kind", he would have sent also his new book "under a new pen-name, 'Anthony Swift' ", but it will not now be out till January, 1 side 8vo, no place, 21st December

Farjeon was an editor for Amalgamated Press, 1910-1920, and, besides his books, contributed to many journals, including 'Punch' as 'Smith Minor'.
Miss Cond regularly wrote appreciative letters to writers of new books, sending her bookplate for them to inscribe.
