WELLINGTON
(Arthur Wellesley, Duke of, 1769-1852, Field Marshal & Statesman)
Fine Autograph Letter to General Sir George WALKER
(1764-1842, Army Officer) assuring him that he is "mistaken if you suppose that I ever have anything to give away as others have at the moment it becomes vacant. I am very much concerned that I cannot comply with your desire to obtain it for the son of your Brother ...", 3 sides 8vo., London, 13th August
Walker commanded his regiment at the Battle of Copenhagen in 1807 during the Napoleonic Wars.
