Unsigned Postcard Photo showing him head and shoulders in his uniform with medals, printed underneath is his name and "whose offer to accompany the British Expeditionary Force was graciously accepted by H.M. King George. The services of the famous Bikanir Camel Corps have also been accepted for the War", 5½" x 3½", no place, no date

During WWI the Maharajah commanded the Bikanir Camel Corps, which served in France, Egypt and Palestine. He was the only 'non-white' member of the Imperial War Cabinet.. Among his many achievements at home were the construction of the Ganges Canal, irrigation schemes to help avoid famine, a Chief Court of Justice, and schools and colleges , especially for women.
