GEORGE VI (1895-1952, King of Great Britain) & Jimmy WILDE(Boxer, 1892-1969, Ex World Fly Weight Champion)

Programme for a Boxing Tournament signed 'Albert' as Duke of York, with a cut out signature of Wilde pasted on the front inscribed "yours sincerely" and dated, 2 pages 4to., together with a fine unsigned photograph showing Wilde and the Prince surrounded by dignitaries including Col John Brown, 8" x 6½" in mount 11" x 8½", Drill Hall, Northampton, 28th October

From the family of Col. John Brown. He started in the territorial army in 1901 as a Lieutenant and retired in 1941 as Director General Territorial Army – as well as running a successful architectural practice. At this time he was a Colonel and commander of the 162nd (East Midland) Infantry Brigade and following that was on the board of the British Legion of which in 1930/34 he was Chairman.
