Goldschmidt and he were not free, but waited till he might "ask the favor of accepting a couple of seats for a little Concert I contemplate giving next Monday", asking "Do you find the Programme deserving of coming the long way up to town?" and promising to call "as soon as I come into the neighbourhood of Sydenham", 2 sides 8vo., Argyle Lodge, Park Side, Wimbledon Common, 7th April

George Grove was Secretary of the Crystal Palace in its new home, and particularly involved in developing the music and writing analytical notes for the programmes.
