3 Autograph Letter Signed to Harold Chipp, of the Cheltenham Gramophone Society, suggesting that if he "offered Folk Song I could produce some unusual records" but they might not appeal "to gramophone fans", he mentions several other possibilities, "most of my suggestions have cut across 'simple categories'", he makes records "entirely subservient to ideas" (23rd February 1962), on Beethoven he would "take the three periods, use Prometheus" and other illustrations of the first, "then something from the third" and in between "discuss his psychology" (27th June 1962), "Your copies may be better than mine ... This is my list which contains a number of 78s, some rather worn ... When I retired from The Times & London I gave to the Institute of Recorded Sound over a thousand 78s & I kept quite as many ... I have been astonished .. how many ... have not been replaced on LP & are therefore indispensable" (15th September 1962), 4 sides 4to and 2 sides 8vo, Newbridge Mill, Standlake, Oxfordshire, 23rd February-15th September filing holes with loss of a few letters (easily supplied), short tear in third item touching one letter

Jenkins of the Cheltenham Gramophone Society, who had asked him about a lecture to fill an unexpected gap, he suggests " 'The Magic Flute' or Verdi's Requiem Mass or 'Otello' " for 5 guineas plus expenses, he is "unfortunately not resident in Cheltenham" but might arrange to combine it with a visit, with 2 of Jenkins' carbon copies, together 2 sides 8vo and 2 sides 4to, 'The Times' printed heading crossed out, 56a Old Church Street, Chelsea, S.W.3., 18th November
