saying he "will engage to paint the Portraits you specify. I will execute the two for £1000, the subjects will, as you may imagine make the work very interesting to me, more so perhaps as you are aware also that I have lately painted the Prince of Wales' Children grouped with the Queen, life size, and commissioned by Her Majesty. When I am favoured with your reply to this I will at once learn whether I can be honoured by sittings of Her Royal Highness and when, or if you would not object to state the case in that quarter it might facilitate matters, you could better explain the circumstances than I, yet I will see to it and not lose a moment of your life, with thanks for yr obliging visit of yesterday ...", 2 sides 8vo., no place, no date
