CONVEYANCE OF KENNINGTON GREEN

Pair of copy Draft Conveyance documents, not signed, for the sale of Kennington Green by Edward VII as Prince of Wales to the Right Honourable Lord Teynham & others (the Trustees), and then in the second document the Trustees sell it back to Edward VIII as Prince of Wales. In the first document the property is described and the sale agreed for the sum of £5, the second draft sells the property back to the Duchy of Cornwall & refers back to the "indenture dated the twenty seventh day of June 1898 and made between his late Majesty King Edward the Seventh ... on the one part and the Trustees of the other part the hereditaments and premises hereinafter described and intended to be conveyed and which then formed part of the possessions of the Duchy of Cornwall were granted and conveyed unto the Trustees ... to permit the Public to have free access and to use the same as a Public park ... the Trustees have agreed with His Royal Highness to Convey the said hereditaments ... to His Royal Highness in consideration of the sum of Five pounds ... subject to all rights of the Public of use & enjoyment thereof ...", 3 sides folio & 6 sides 4to., with a coloured plan at the front of each, 27th June 1898 and 14th February first document slightly soiled

Part damask tablecloth made for the Prince of Wales woven with Royal Cypher 'AE' and garter stars, 33" x 46", no place, no date, This cloth must have been economically reduced as the pattern is no longer symmetrical, worn with some repairs

Lady Monson, on the verso is a notice that it entitles the bearer to a return ticket from Paddington, and is to be retained until arrival at Windsor Castle, gold embossed crown, 2 sides card 3" x 4½", blind embossed stamp of the Board of Green Cloth, 14th June some light browning on verso
