The Whitehaven Colliery Visitor's Book for 1927 signed (Edward P) at the head of the first page, above the names of the rest of his party, Lord LONSDALE (Lowther, Hugh Cecil Lowther,5th Earl, 1857-1944, Sportsman), Sir Godfrey THOMAS (1889-1968, Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales), Herbert W. Walker, G. Mure Ritchie, R. S. Hudson, Thoms Black, Frank Hols, M. Kennedy & W. H. Johnson, the page is headed Haig Pit and dated 30th June 1927, there are then three more pages of signatures including the "Safety in mines Limbering Committe, 8 May 1929", together with a fine photo of the Prince's visit showing him walking with his party at the colliery, 6½" x 5" in mount 10" x 8", 4to., bound in red morocco, very slight scuffing on the binding

Fine Remission Document signed at the head "Edward RI" as King, addressed to the Governor of "Our Prison at Wakefield" concerning William Harridance who had been "convicted of ware-house breaking and larceny and sentenced to imprisonment ... in consideration of some circumstances humbly represented unto US, are graciously pleased to extend Our Grace and Mercy .... and to pardon and remit unto him one month of the sentence passed on him ... Our Will and Pleasure therefore is that you cause the said William Harridance to be discharged out of custody accordingly ...", countersigned by John SIMON (1st Viscount, 1873-1954, Statesman & Lord Chancellor), 1 side folio with stamped seal and revenue stamp, Court at St James, 21st January
