A BOOKPLATE AS A GIFT FOR THE 9 YEAR OLD PRINCESS ELIZABETH
ELIZABETH
(The Queen Mother, 1900-2002, Queen of George VI)
Fine Autograph Letter Signed to the Rev. F. J. Stone
(Dean at Windsor) thanking him for his suggestion of "giving our eldest daughter a bookplate. I cannot imagine a more delightful and charming present, and I know that she will be very pleased at owning such a grown up possession! The specimens of your nephew's work that you enclosed, (and which I return) are quite enchanting. So clean and individual - I shall envy my daughter such an artistic design as I am sure it will be. If you are free, will you come and dine quietly with us ...", 3 sides 8vo., with original autograph envelope signed, The Royal Lodge, The Great Park, Windsor headed paper, 16th March
