2 Fine Autograph Letters in the third person, in English, as Duke of Orleans,
in his attractive hand, to Lord Fortescue (Hugh, 1753-1841, from 1789 1st Earl, F.S.A.), in the first the Duke "is very sorry" he cannot "avail himself of his invitation for tomorrow, but the Duke of Kent having suddenly set off for Windsor, the Duke of Orleans has given up the idea of going to town", .hoping "he will be more fortunate on the next night of Lord Fortescue's direction", in the second the Duke "would be extremely obliged ... if he could grant him an order of admission for tomorrow at the Concert of Ancient Music", the two letters neatly joined to make 1 side 16" x 7¾", respectively Twickenham, 11th February 1806 and Kensington Palace, 'Tuesday morning' no date, circa
