Our Minister resident to the Republic of the Equator ..." appointing him "Our undoubted Commissioner, Procurator and Plenipotentiary, giving to him all manner of Power and Authority to treat, adjust, and conclude ... any Treaty, Convention, or agreement ... and to sign for Us ...", 1 side oblong large folio on vellum with original appended GREAT SEAL and fine red and silver tassels, Windsor Castle, 27th March
the great seal has been professionally repaired as has the black box which has the original crested liner on the inside

Ramón CASTILLA, (1797-1867, President 1845-1851 & 1855-1862), in English, signed also by Viscount Palmerston, (1784-1865), as foreign secretary, saying that the Queen "Sendeth greeting!" to "Our Good Friend!", and that "The Almighty has been pleased to send Us a Prince", Arthur, Duke of Connaught, (1850-1942), "at Buckingham Palace, at Twenty Minutes past Eight o'Clock on the morning of the 1st Instant", adding that "The Sentiments of Friendship ... and the interest which You have manifested on other occasions affecting our Happiness do not permit Us to doubt that You will receive with pleasure the intelligence of this gratifying event", assuring him of "Our best wishes for Your Welfare" and recommending him to "the Protection of the Almighty", 1 side folio and conjugate blank, Buckingham Palace, 22nd May
