Typed Letter Signed to Gilbert,  MONCKTON  (Gilbert Walter Riverside, b. 1915, 2nd Viscount Brenchley, Major-General), enclosing a copy of the White Paper, describing the policies of the Jordanian leadership and Government at different phases during the recent Gulf crisis, "Santayana once remarked that 'it is relatively easy to predict the future but well neigh impossible to ascertain the past'.
