Stone (Dean at Windsor) saying that they were “so distressed to hear of the attack made by our dogs on your poor little dog the other day and do hope that it will recover very soon. It is so awful when dogs fall out, and especially where damage is done, and we really are terribly disturbed about it all, and do want you to know how deeply we regret it. I do hope that all will be well with the poor sufferer - please let us know, & forgive our naughty dogs who had always behaved like angels up till now. Exceptional document signed by both at the head on behalf of the Queen addressed to Our Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Our Colony and Protectorate of Aden printed with the details typed in, sending a “Seal prepared by our Order for the use of the Government of Our Colony and Protectorate of Aden... We do hereby authorize and direct that the said Seal be used in sealing all Public Instruments which shall be made and passed in Our Name... We do further require and command that you do return the old Seal... to Us, through One of Our Principal Secretaries of State in order that it may be defaced...” countersigned by Alan LENNOX-BOYD (1st Viscount Boyd of Merton, 1904-1983, Conservative Politician, Secretary of State for the Colonies), together with a later impression of her seal of Aden, 1 side folio with stamped seal, Court at St James’s, 8th February

I do agree with you about Sister Agnes, and that remarkable character Mrs Saxby! She really is a marvellous woman, & that tiny frame contains a spirit worthy of Florence Nightingale! I was so interested in your comments on life in Spain, and I am sure that your experience there will be of tremendous value always.
