Delightful Illustrated Autograph Letter Signed to Mrs Beddington
saying that he has found, to his “consternation, a card of invitation from you for a date which has passed. I was away a good bit during half of last month, & can only suppose that in that way the card got mislaid. Anyway i am most awfully sorry if I did not answer, and I apologise sincerely & with the utmost humility...” her he has put a sketch of himself on his hands and knees in a pose of submission, “and I pray for forgiveness...” and here he has put another sketch showing himself with arms outstretched in supplication, 2 sides 8vo., 1 Pelham Place, South Kensington, 2nd November
