saying he has wanted to write to her "to tell you how very specially I like and enjoy your little volume 'Sketches in Verse' ", for "its classical finish. The themes are much to my mind, but the treatment is even more so. The blending too of Rome and London, of the Latin lands and seas with Somerset, has a special attraction for me ... for instance 'The Manor House' and 'Tivoli' side by side, make a peculiarly delicious blend", withan obituary notice of Warren from the 'Spectator', 14th June 1930, "As an undergraduate he was ... a brilliant classical scholar ...
