Park Lane that leads from the High Street of Guldeford ... towards Guldeford Park on the East side of the said Lane", formerly occupied by Edward Draper and lately by George Cook and one Finch, which "did formerly beare the signe of the Ship and was called the old Ship", at "the Rent of One Pepper Corne" next Michaelmas "if the same shall be lawfully demanded", manuscript on vellum with engraved heading incorporating the arms of George II, 1 side 12¼" x 18½", signed and sealed by James Washbourne, witnessed on verso by William Hall and William Williams "at the Blue Posts & Rummer Charingcrosse", 30th October in fine crisp condition

Fine woodcut device, showing a monstrous horse with fish's tail, carrying a pillar on which stands a crane with a snake in its beak, all encircled by the motto 'Discite Iustitiam Moniti' ('Be warned, learn justice', Vergil Aeneid 6:620), in the upper corners are two unicorns, in the lower are female figures, one with a cross, the other with a flaming heart, merchant's mark without initials, 3½" x 3½" (8.9cm x 8.7cm), no date, c. tiny defect in bottom blank margin
