MORRISON-39257-1.jpg
MORRISON (William Shepherd, 1893-1961, Politician, 14th Governor-General of Australia)

Fine Typed Letter Signed with autograph salutation to J. T. Evans concerning his "application to the Office of Works for free admission to the Tower of London of 350 school-children ...I have made enquiries from the Office of Works and I am sorry to say that there is nothing I can do for you. The reason for the restriction of free admission to 500 children in any one day is that, without it, the Tower becomes so congested that other visitors are held up, and cannot see it properly; and the authorities are bound to consider everybody's interest. The Office of Works feel the greatest sympathy with your position but both they and the Board of Education feel it is essential, in fairness to the five hundred school-children to whom free admission has been granted, that the terms of this arrangement should be strictly adhered to, and they feel that it would be both unjust and impracticable to make exceptions in favour of any one party ...", 1 side 8vo., Treasury Chambers headed paper, 15th June

MOSLEY-42330-1.jpg
MOSLEY (Sir Oswald, 1896-1960, Politician and Fascist Leader)

Fine Typed Letter Signed to Leonard Henderson but addressed to “Mr Hastings” which is his address, saying that his “present position is described on page 461 of ‘MY LIFE’... which you appear to have read as well as ‘THE GREATER BRITAIN’. The method of working as an isolated individual has made it easier for me to circulate my ideas over television, radio etc. in Britain, America and other countries. The movement I founded after the war - Union Movement - is conducted quite independently by other people who are old friends of mine... They or Mosley Secretariat - who occupy the same building - would always be glad to supply you with any information you require. I am asking M.S. to send you a few of my recent broadsheets which go all over the world. I note with interest that you may be in France... and hope I may not be away at that time... kindly let me know in advance, it will be a pleasure for us to see you both here if we are at home...”, 2 sides 8vo., 1 Rue des Laace, Orsay 91, France, 29th January
