THE QUEEN’S SILVER JUBILEE

Ceremonial for the Thanksgiving Service for her Silver Jubilee, from Buckingham Palace to St Paul’s and back on foot to Guildhall, with full descriptions of Royal family procession (six carriages), the Queen Mother’s (two carriages) and the Queen’s (four State coaches and the State Landau), the ceremony at Temple Bar, the arrival at St Paul’s, the additional processions there of the Clergy, the Speaker, the Lord Chancellor, and the Orders of Chivalry, the service itself, and the same processions on departure, the car processions to Guildhall, however this is a City as well as national occasion and the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh walk there with the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, stopping to meet members of Livery Companies, Aldermen when they cross a Ward boundary, at Bow church the rector presents the Queen with a silver replica of the Great Bell, there follow lunch at Guildhall and the Queen’s reply to the Lord Mayor proposing her health, and so home, large Royal Arms on front cover, 32 sides 13” x 8”, St. Paul’s Cathedral, 7th June

Charming group of 3 unsigned snapshots taken in Scotland, show them on a stage with Captain Iain Tennant (1919-2006) holding his accustomed shepherd’s crook, all except the Queen and her sister are in kilts, in the first Captain Tennant announces a winner, in the next a young boy comes forward to be congratulated by the Queen, and in the last a young girl, like the boy in kilt and dancing shoes, is congratulated by Princess Margaret, each 2½” x 3½”, no place, no date, circa light traces on versos of former laying down
