TATIANA-KONSTANTINOVA-53172-1.jpg
TATIANA KONSTANTINOVA (Princess, 1890-1979, later Mother Tamara, Abbess of the Orthodox Convent of Mount of Olives, daughter of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich, 1858-1915, wife, 1911, of Prince Konstantin Alexandrovich Bagration-Mukhransky, 1889-1915)

Long autograph letter signed, in German, to 'Dicky', her second cousin Princess MARIA (1888-1947, younger daughter of Prince Albert of Saxe-Altenburg, 1843-1902, wife, 1911-1921, of Heinrich XXXV of Reuss-Schleiz-Köstritz, 1887-1935), apologizing 'for boring her', she has so often heard from her mother about Maria and her child, she too will be a mother in two months, D.V., her Mother writes that Maria is nursing and bathing the baby herself, all which she would like to do. She talks about the difficulty of finding a good nursery-governess ('bonne'), to bring out and develop the child, an ordinary person will not do that, and the superior kind are pretentious and 'not worth it', she wonders if Maria's could recommend one, "Aunt Tinchen says yours came from a small new establishment and you are very pleased with her", she would have chosen a Russian but has held back, it is so difficult to find one among them that is neat and tidy, Countess Carlow writes that "you are all coming to Oranienbaum in a month's time", and hopes to see them before she transfers to Pavlovsk to have the baby, 4 sides 8vo in her attractive hand, Strelna (on the coast west of St Petersburg), 11th June
