saying that he had written "from Jamaica acquainting you of my having been Invalided on account of my ill state of health and that I was order'd a passage in the Hound Sloop of War, but unfortunately on the 14th of July last being within 8 leagues of Scilly we were Captured by Seine & Galetta two Frigates belonging to this Republick - We were landed at Dunkirk and from thence I was removed to this place and am as comfortably situated as a prisoner would expect.
