LICENCE TO DEAL IN TOBACCO

in French, printed with manuscript additions, issued by the Master of Requests, Director and President of the Administration of Indirect Taxes, in favour of Dame Marie-Anne Baland, née Charpentier, widow, of the commune of Saint-Satur, hamlet of Saint-Thibault, canton of Sancerre, stating that she is to present herself at Bourges to the local Director who will install her in her functions and take her oath as required by law, whereupon she will conform to the orders and instructions given her, on pain of deprivation. In return, the Master of Requests requires all in the name of the King, (Louis Philippe I), to give her all necessary help and protection. With marginal notes recording that she has paid 1 franc 50 centimes stamp duty at Sancerre and that she has taken the oath of fidelity to the King and of obedience to the laws, which are summarized on the verso, 2 sides 14½" x 9¼", Bourges, Cher, 14th April a few small defects in blank margins
