STRONG
(Leonard Alfred George, 1896-1958, Writer and Schoolmaster)
Autograph Letter Signed to Mr. Harris,
saying that "the information you want is in the bibliography compiled by John Gawsworth [1902-1970] ... but in case you are not near a reference library, I think these are the main dates", he picks out three volumes of verse, 1921-1931, and five of fiction, 1929-1941, as to "which is the best, that's for you to judge. My choice would lie between THE BAY, as an extroverted story, & CORPORAL TUNE as an introverted. Most people seem to prefer THE BROTHERS, but THE BAY's by far the best seller (for what that's worth). Aim? To tell the story as honestly and clearly as I can", and offering "anything else I can do to help", 2 sides 8vo., Salterns, Eashing, Godalming, Surrey, 11th August
