apologizing for sending "so shabby a parcel for the dear Monte & nothing but ... the knowledge ... that the very trifling offer of a few Rusks safely conveyed will prove that our beloved friend ever lives in my thoughts & breast could have induced me to ask such a favor - and my Servant considers it best to carry them", if on returning to Town she renews her visits, "You will with great justice I hope be tempted to own the old Proverb of "L'appetit vient en mangeant" ... Let me know soon of the safe arrival of a healthy Grand Son", with a P.S. sending her regrets to 'Monte' [in Bath] "at not seeing him this year !
