Long Autograph Letter Signed to William Clarkson, the costumier and wig-maker,
saying that "the change pair of white breeches ... have been wrong from the start. I do not think any alteration is going to make them bearable", they were too tight first round the calves, and now the thighs, "and in ridges above the knees ... the other pair is getting very dirty, as I have worn them ... for 5 weeks", he must have another "so that I can get the original pair dry cleaned", and asking if he could be fitted "at the theatre (Kennington) after the 2nd act ... as I have a nice wait then", 4 sides 8vo., 9M Hyde Park Mansions, N.W., 1st November
