passed in Jamaica in 1703, due to the "uncertainties and disputes in the Payment ... by reason of the words Manured and Planted ... Her Majesty hath been and now is graciously pleased, that whatsoever shall arise from the Quit Rents shall be applied towards the Support of the Government and defraying the contingent charges of this Island ..." giving the rates per acre to be paid, 2 sides folio, Jamaica c.
