2 Typed Letter Signed to Miss M.L. Whichello of the Cheltenham Gramophone Society, saying "I would far rather you made me an offer" about a fee, and suggesting " 'The Conductor's Job' ... in no way technical ... it is very important that audiences should be better informed ones than they usually are - then you wouldn't hear so much rubbish talked in the interval!", he reviews records as well as conducts (3rd May 1972), he has thought over the fee (£15) and fears "I cannot accept anything less than £20 ... I have explained this at some length, since societies seldom realise the busy musician's point of view ... As a professional, if I book a date, I keep it - Acts of God and other fatalities permitting!"
