Signatures on portion of a document, as Lords of the Treasury, addressed to George Montagu, Earl of Halifax (d. 1739), Auditor of the Receipt of the Exchequer, ordering a large payment under 5 George I c. 19 (1719), in respect of people who had exchanged anticipated lottery proceeds for South Sea stock, 2 sides 4¼" x 6½" remargined to 6¼" x 7½", 28th March lacks bottom portion of first side, also line ends (easily supplied from title of the Act, see transcription), text on second side appears complete apart from addressee's style, tears in line 5 without loss

Signature on portion of a Bill submitted to the Lords of the Treasury, detailing his expenses, including £115 "at the rate of £5 per diem ... being the same that is allowed by the States Generall to the Heer van Amerong[en] their Envoy for the same voyage", also £27 10s for "Waggons, Post horses and coach horses, ships, boats: Porters: &c", van Amerongen was allowed double, and £20 "Interest of mony borrowed for the above occasions", 2 sides 2¾" x 6½", Whitehall, 12th November lacking top and bottom portions

SYDNEY (1st Viscount, Thomas Townshend, 1733-1800, Home Secretary under Pitt, Sydney Australia named after him), GEORGE ONSLOW (1731-1814, from 1776 4th Lord) and William DOWDESWELL (1721-1775, MP, leader of the Rockingham Whig faction)

Treasury Document Signed, unusual in being complete, being an Authority to pay "unto her Royal Highness the Princess Dowager of Wales, or to her Treasurer for the time being, the Sum of Two Thousand five hundred pounds without account other than such as the said Treasurer may be required to render thereof, to the auditor of the said Princess, the sum being for One Quarter of a year ended the 5th day of Aprill 1766. On the yearly Sum of Ten thousand pounds payable to her said Royal Highness ...", and with an instruction to Townshend to "pay this Order out of Duty on Brandy ..." receipted as paid on the verso and signed by her Treasurer Samuel MARTIN, 2 sides folio, no place, 12th April slightly trimmed on left hand edge
