FERDINAND II (1810-1859, King of the Two Sicilies from 1830 until his early death in 1859) informing him of "the new and terrible disaster I fulfil the sad office of notifying it to Your Majesty! My beloved Consort, Her Majesty Queen Maria Adelaide of Sardinia, Archduchess of Austria, rendered her kind soul to God on the evening of the 12th of this month after a brief but cruel illness occurred after the first days of her puerperium. under the direction of Cav. Andrea Mayer, with a very fine outdoor scene in full colours by C.B. Conti, of people in 18th century dress, showing a young lady being introduced and curtseying to her hostess, with other guests and musicians behind, lake, parkland and mountain beyond, in an elaborate rococo gilt frame, above is a crowned FERT (motto of the Order of the Annunciation, 1362), the music, opening with a Military March by Mayer & Fedi, includes Sinfonias and other pieces from Italian opera, and ends with Carosio's march Ruwenzori, 2 sides 8vo. in covers held by cord and tassel, Turin, 11th May
