to Harold Chipp of the Cheltenham Gramophone Society, "His fee for ... a single engagement would be 20 gns. inclusive," less for two or more in the same area, "Town Clerks etc. are very co-operative, clubs ... W.I.'s, N.F.U. etc very often book this way" (22nd May 1953) with her interesting printed list bearing his photo of a wide range of titles on the B.B.C., Spoken English, Songs, the Cotswolds, Tennis etc., or acting as Questionmaster, "I have no feeling about being 'F.H.' or otherwise" (27th May 1953), arranging details (6th October 1953), Robert Henriques can lend him the 'Sardana' record, he will come in good time and "we can hatch out an attractive programme between us" (12th October 1953), "thank you for all your kindness to me" on Monday night (21st October 1953), together 9 sides 8vo, Hewshotts, Liphook, Hampshire, 22nd May - 21st October

telling her that they are "visiting in the country just now. I come up to town for the Savoy of course & return at night. Next Monday we shall be at Broadstairs where all our children are, next week we go up the river for good (or bad, as the case may be) - i had no idea you have started Lawn Tennis or I should have come up one morning. I have had an awfully busy & tiring season & seem to have seen nothing of my own friends. I suppose you will be out of Town soon ..." sending his regards to "all at Church Row" and signed off "Your old friend", 3 sides 8vo.,31 Blandford Square, 21st August no year
