LOUISE VICTORIA
(Alexandra Dagmar, 1867-1931, Princess Royal, Duchess of Fife, Daughter of Edward VII)
Fine early ALS to "Dearest Jonnie", her nanny,
hoping "you are quite well now, I am sorry I did not write before but I really had no time at all we are either out or with Aunt BEATRICE" (1857-1944, Queen Victoria's youngest daughter), "we do lessons with her every morning ..." she hopes that London is not too dull and that the weather is fine, "it is very nice & fine here only it rains sometimes. We have been to see all the people here with GRANDMAMA [Queen Victoria] & they are all quite well, and they all asked after mama & Papa & Tora ...", she hopes that Jonnie had liked the flowers she sent and says that the hill look "very pretty now there is some snow on a few of them & the trees are beginning to get green at which I am very glad. With our best love & many kisses ...", 4 sides 8vo., Balmoral Castle headed paper, 26th May
