saying he is "glad to hear you are going to do the 'Ancient Mariner' at your Society" and that "the best way to manage, where all the [orchestral] parts are not represented, is to have an Harmonium", Barnett explains how the published harmonium part "would require ... great discretion", with pertinent examples, "I should prefer drums to a Trombone because you cannot imitate the tone of drums by any other instrument ...
