Autograph Letter Signed 'John (N)' to Mrs Winifred Arnold of Little Baddow, near Chelmsford, saying "I feel I must add my thanks" to his wife's letter "for your very kind and rich gifts ... It is a mystery how you got to know ... at first [Christine] would not tell me the date & of course I had forgotten! We were married in the 1914-18 War & had no celebration & the same happened again for the Silver one in the last War ... Unfortunately Christine has been ordered to rest ...You, I take it, are heading for a Diamond Jubilee ... I often think of the old days at Bigwood and have been in touch with Bill & Honor lately. I hope you still paint. I ... have just started work again. There's no entire rest for an artist! ...", 2 sides 8vo., Bottengoms Farm, Wormingford, Essex, 29th May

Autograph Letter Signed to Anthony BERTRAM (1897-1978, writer on Art and Travel, biographer, 1955, of John Nash's brother Paul, 1889-1946), saying he has "heard nothing from Margaret" (née Odeh, d. 1960, Paul's widow living in Oxford) "for some time now ... I may be able to help in the matter of events - on dates I am not so good but my wife is strong on that point!", he thinks "a talk would be much more satisfactory than writing lists of queries", and suggests Bertram come "for a night or so ... I have to go to London every Thursday afternoon or evening for my teaching day at the Royal College of Art on Friday ... It would be pleasant ... to renew acquaintance & do the work in comfort. It's a bit rough here - the old Essex farmhouse & some people think East Anglia cold. Could you ring up one evening in the cheap time?", 2 sides 8vo., Bottengoms Farm, Wormingford, Essex, no date but autumn
