Count Albrecht Bernstorff, (1809-1873), was the anglophile Prussian Ambassador 1853-1861. He played an important part in maintaining relations with Great Britain during the crises of 1864 (when Prussia attacked Denmark) and 1870-1871 (when she fought France).
