MONNERON (Paris Financier, granted the privilege of Coining Copper 1791-1792)

Receipt signed by him on verso of an Order by Mazoir and Company, Paris Bankers, for 11,000 livres [about £440] to P. Ch. de Proli, with the latter's endorsement in favour of M. Duplain de Ste Albine (15th June 1786), and Duplain's endorsement in favour of M. Monneron (20th June 1786), in French with translation, Paris, 30th April right hand part only present of original order (recto)

The copper coins of 1791-1792, bearing Louis XVI's head and the insignia of the Republic, are not uncommon, and were long known as 'Monnerons'.
