BENEKE (Paul Victor Mendelssohn, 1868-1944, grandson of the composer Felix Mendelssohn)

Autograph letter signed to Miss Blunt, saying that "when I was at Beaconsfield, Miss Blunt of Adderbury ... asked me a question about one of the 'Songs without Words' which I could not answer" which led him "to refer to an edition the name of which I could not remember!", it is the Klindworth Edition (Novello, 1898) "but it contains nothing to throw light on the matter ... If you ... have occasion to write ... will you kindly transmit this truly valuable message", 2 sides 8vo., Magdalen College, Oxford, 19th January
