I am fond of the place ... If I had the money ... my first step would be to drain thoroughly all the wet land ... all except the rocks ... then ... give it one strong dressing of Derbysh: lime ... from the mountainlimestone" to make "a very useful pasture ... you shall hear from me", 4 sides 8vo., Dukinfield, Cheshire, near Ashton under Lyne, 6th July
