Autograph Letter in the third person to Thomas Cadell,
(1773-1836, London publisher), asking him to "put down, as Subscribers to Dr. Jones's intended work on Divine Retribution the following [eight] names", which include his immediate family, generals and Irish peers with their addresses, 1 side 4to., Hereford Street, London, 23rd June
Sir John took an active part in suppressing the Irish rebellion of 1798, and served in Egypt, Madras and Portugal. He was Governor of Gibraltar, 1809, and of the Cape 1811-1814. Hereford Street was the first turning East from Park Lane, between Oxford Street and North Row.
