Autograph Letter Signed to Mr. Campbell, saying that "there has been an unavoidable delay in my getting the further manuscript ready for the book you have taken in hand for me ... the gentleman who is now doing the latter part cannot let me have it for some time longer", he has "not abandoned the idea of publishing", but wishes "to settle my present debt" over the part already set in type, 4 sides 8vo., 6 Arlington Street, S.W., 19th July transparent strip in margin of fourth side without loss

Sir William was ADC to Sir Garnet Wolseley in the Ashanti campaign, 1873-1874, Administrator of the Transvaal, 1880-1881, and Colonel on the Staff in Egypt, 1882-1885.
