saying "I have received a most penitent letter from Dr. [Hugh Percy] Allen", (1869-1946, Organist of New College, Oxford, 1901-1918, later Director of the RCM), "He received a reply from Fransella ... & telegraphed where this man was to go and when ... Dr. Allen's absence ... was ... because the competition he was judging was suddenly put at 9.30 instead of 11 ... He didn't get to London till 11.15 and had to start for Petersfield 6.20 a.m. ... We must not blame Dr. Allen too much ... A thousand thanks for all the ... untiring zeal you have shown towards making our Society's Concerts a great success", 4 sides 8vo., Havenfield, Banbury, 7th May n.y., c.
Albert Fransella was the (Dutch) leading flautist in the Queen's Hall Orchestra and played at the first Promenade Concert, 1895.
