BUSTINI (Alessandro, 1876-1970, Italian Pianist and Composer, President of the National Academy of St. Cecilia, 1952-1964)

Typed letter in Italian with translation, signed to  Nathan MILSTEIN , in New York, informing him "that the General Assembly of the Academicians of St. Cecilia, at its meeting of the 3rd February, has elected you Honorary Academician", and sending him his "warmest congratulations", 1 side folio, National Academy of St. Cecilia, Via Vittoria 6, Rome, 4th February slight tear in margin

The St. Cecilia Society, founded by Palestrina in the 16th century, became an Academy for promoting Church Music under Pius IX in 1847. Bustini studied and spent most of his working life there, and continued to teach after his time as president.
