DENISON (Edward, 1801-1854, from 1837 Bishop of Salisbury)

Autograph Letter Signed 'E.Sarum' to Horatio Nelson, (1823-1913, from 1835 3rd Earl Nelson), saying that he had "just seen Miles" before Lord Nelson's letter arrived, "& at once saw he would not do for me. - I am afraid Terry is too young", he proposes "to hold a Confirmation at Salisbury", something Denison took very seriously, "on the Wednesday in Passion week", he is very sorry "for what you tell me about Mr Munro but not surprised", he admired "his energy and remarkable powers" but could never "regard the work as being upon a sound basis" or wish to connect himself with it, 2 sides 8vo, Burlington House, 14th February

Mr Munro had asked for contributions to his school at Harrow Weald.
Lord Nelson lived at Trafalgar House, 5 miles SE of Salisbury.
