JIGGINS (John, Butcher)

Bill for meat supplied to Henry Wilson, Esq., with quantities and prices, almost every weekday from 26th September to 31st December, nearly all at 7d per pound, a few at 6½d, totalling £52 11s 6½d, 2 sides 16¼" x 6¼", with Jiggins' separate receipt, no place, September - December 1842 and 3rd March

The list includes beef, mutton, veal, with the occasional ox tongue at 3s, 3s 6d or 5s. The weight and frequency of many of the single entries - rising to 118 pounds of beef just before Christmas - suggest that Mr Wilson kept a very large establishment or, more likely, a shop.
