saying "You can judge of the difficulties of translation", sending his version of Schiller's 'Gods of Greece', "one of the most difficult I have rendered into English", and hoping "the original has not suffered greatly in my hands", 1 side 8vo., 31 Onslow Square, S.W., 2nd March
Sir Theodore's translations included plays for his wife, the Shakespearean actress Helen Faucit (1816-1898).
Anna Swanwick was a famous translator of Goethe and Aeschylus. She helped found Queen's College, Bedford College (of which she was principal), Somerville and Girton.
