in a clerk's hand, signed by the drawer Henry Handy Jr., for £9 to G.M. Counsel Esq., 3¾" x 8", Messrs Berwick Lechmere Wall and Isaac, Worcester Old Bank, 9th December

On the reverse is a curious contemporary note 'This antique Chair was made in the Reign of Edwd. 6th when gothic architecture was beginning to be dissused in England and before Grecian was introduced ... Drawn by B. Bonnar esqr. on his knee in the short space of five Minutes'.
