Tableau Vivants were a tradition rekindled by the Royal Family shortly after the death of the Prince Consort. This would take the form of the family getting into costume for certain roles recreating a scene from a play, a picture or a word. This tradition has been taken further by the young Princesses as this picture is of the girls starring in a production that they devised.
