Superb print signed and inscribed, "Que Dieu vous donne le bonheur" (May God Grant you happiness or success or good fortune) showing her three quarters length in the role of Sardou's Gismonda, in a magnificent Arts and Crafts frame, 6½" x 4¼", in frame 14" x 10", no place,

The New York Times of 26th November 1894 wrote "BERNHARDT AS GISMONDA; Paris Enthusiastic Over Her Acting in Sardou's Play. GREATEST OF HER ARTISTIC TRIUMPHS. It would be easy to say that Sardou had never been thus triumphant, Bernhardt never so perfect, stage mounting never more exquisitely beautiful, or costumes as magnificent, and, finally, that no play has ever been better cast than "Gismonda." This would be no exaggeration; it would be only the truth, but the subject demands minute description."
