Fine early Autograph Letter Signed ('Harry') to her nanny 'My dear Jonnie', hoping she will write and telling her that they "had a safe journey up ot Osbornne [sic] house, it is very lonely with out Papa or Mama. Marie sends her best love to you and Walkley. Good bye ... from your loving friend Harry", Maud's nickname from her high spirits, 2 sides 8vo., and conjugate blank, Osborne, 31st July

A delightful letter from the 11 year old princess to her nanny, whose real name was Elizabeth Jones. Her elder brothers had become Naval cadets in 1877 so presumably this was a family visit to the young boys who had just returned from a cruise of the West Indies in the Bacchante.
