Adalbert is not wearing the usual christening robe that was lent by her Majesty Queen Victoria as the Queen did not wish the robe to leave England because she was irritated with Wilhelm because of the way he had treated his father and her eldest daughter. Queen Victoria rarely showed her displeasure in this manner and sadly never met any of the Kaiser's children apart from the eldest child.
