Fine unsigned cabinet photo by Downey, the image shows four Generations, the Queen is seated with her infant great-grandson Edward VIII wearing his christening robe in her lap, and her son Edward VII and grandson George V standing behind her, 6½" x 4½", no place but White Lodge, July 16th

Taken at White Lodge, Richmond Park on the occasion of Prince Edward of York's christening. In her journal for July 1894 the Queen wrote "The dear fine baby wearing the Honiton lace robe ... [made from her own wedding veil] was brought in & handed to me - I then gave him to the Archbishop & recd him back ... the child was v. good ... Had tea with May & afterwards we were photographed, I holding the baby in my lap, Bertie and Georgie standing behind me, thus making 4 Generations".
